The last surviving member of the team that designed the Rockets that took the US to the Moon has died.
Report here from the BBC.

I had to think about where to put this. Any suggestions as to where this kind of thing should go? Do we need a category 'Newsroom'? In fact, maybe I should make this thread 'Newsroom', and everyone can add their own to it? This is our forum, and it's up to us to decide how we want to use it, so tell me what you think

Minnaloushe creeps through the grass,
From moonlit place to place,
The sacred moon overhead,
Has taken a new phase.

Hi Stavy,
Would it be an idea to create a 'Newsroom' category as you say, into which news specific to LM1 and relevant space/other related content could be put?
Anything else could then be moved/placed into 'General Chat'?

My other signature is much better than this one!

I think an off topic section would also be an idea. As this community grow and bonds there may be a requirement for chat other than lunar one. I noticed we have a few sci fi fans here for example and a section to chat about that may be nice.
What do other member think, specifically about Stavy's question above?

I am going to change this thread title to Newsroom, so we can put in any space and science based news we see anywhere. It will be great if we can eventually have a category called this, and if we do, we can move this lot into it.
New categories are for the wish list at the moment. The techies are still busy sorting out the framework part of the forum and it will be a while before they can spend time on cosmetic adjustments. We can make do until then.
The daily drivel thread can serve as our off topic section for now and Martin please do start a sci-fi thread if you like, I am sure it will be popular. Obviously we won't be sure what we really want until we have been here using the board day to day so let's play with it and see

The latest supply run to the ISS is about to crash and burn with the station's next two months stash of chocolate biscuits on board. Might have to be a bit of belt tightening going on until the next scheduled delivery run...

I did read earlier about the last of the German scientists, it is sad and perhaps marks the beginning of the end of the Apollo era generation .
