Taking that one step further Paul, I don't think we will ever know everything, there will always be unanswered questions. Can you imagine if there was nothing left to discover? What would be the point then.....

Well Martin were this to be the case we may be so clever (as to almost seem like Gods) that we could create
another universe or as in INTERSTELLAR (Don't read on if you've not seen it)
Become inter dimensional beings?
It's safe to say we have much to learn & I think your right I don't think we'll ever achieve that point of knowing everything.
Will be fun trying though

Another thought...
my father and I have discussed such subjects over the years like this and I've brought this up before elsewhere but TIME may well be stranger than we realise or perceive.
I don't know if we've been visted by aliens or the like (I'm open minded...many now believe in such things) but who's to say those creatures described as looking humanoid but greyer? and a little smaller? aren't in fact us but from the far future (they have found a way to use time to revist us?)
Like you I don't think we know the half of it or even the top 1% probably of things out there...I'd LOVE to be around when we finally do start
discovering Earth shattering things.

Martin P - Yes it's truly mind boggling that at one level we exist yet at another level we are mostly space between particles interacting with weak/strong forces.... Even our brain is a paradox... this organ is slowly becoming more aware of itself-over thousands of years....

Paul Conway- If there is one conclusion I've come to from my amateur studies on the history of modern humankind over the past 50,000 years, is that we should never assume that something is out of the capabilities of humankind. The statement that currently humankind is incapable of travelling through our own Milky Way galaxy is correct. However considering that in the past 50K years humans have gone from being hunter gatherers to setting foot on the Moon and flying around the world everyday, I would say everything is possible given enough time.... 50K years ago(heck forget 50K just 200 years ago) if you had gone to one of our ancestors and told them we would have visited the moon they would have said you are crazy....
