Darryl James Cooper created the topic: LM1 Partnership with ESA
Having seen one of the most recent posts on the LM1 facebook page and from watching Stargazing Live this week (as well as info I gathered from the conference I attended in Cologne last year), ESA is looking for international partners for a string of lunar projects to eventually lead to the development of a Moon base.

I know it is probably far from official, but can anyone hint as to whether LM1's participation at ESA's Moon 2020-2030 conference has led to LM1 being considered as one of these ESA-partnership projects??

Interesting...it could well be that this project progresses this way and becomes part of something else like this? especially if the funding needed is not realised?

I would not be completely against the idea, although I do still hope this mission takes place as is, funded by the people of the world (general public) to learn more about the moon, the core samples etc as well as leaving behind our digital & dna database (the real selling point for most i'd imagine)

Of course I look forward to hearing of the other experiments to be included on our mission.
I still like the 'moon selfie' idea (you know that Darryl) :) to prolong the funding into the future as well as the drone idea (certainly that would be a first and could explore areas of the moon of interest far quicker than a rover ever could)

The current surveyor is doing a good job but let's get a reasonably powerful and quick drone up there if at all possible? to film these areas of interes (perhaps using a special Oculus Rift camera?)

Well if the rumours were to be believed then we've been warned off the moon what with all these unusual structures, tunnels, domes, the towers, the bridge (even Sir Patrick Moore said of this that it came from virtually nowhere?), the mining facilities and the crashed ship on the darkside :) I say let's go and explore these sites and areas and prove once and for all the truth.

I probably shouldn't type this because it might seem i'm one of the conspiracy theorists (i'm really not, i'm a realist with an open mind) but after I had taken those pictures of the Blood Moon last year I thought i'd do a search on the web to see others photo's as i'd found something on a few which seemed simply strange and almost impossible....and amazingly during this occurrence someone had appeared to capture something strange on the moon at that time too....see here...

about 1 minute 10 seconds into the film something strange...now being as these types are sensationalist with the logo's such as section 51 (yup area51) and X-Files like logo's :) great new episode of The X-Files btw I would have thought them crazy fakes!!! but nope I actually captured something too...with my new PC you can enlarge the photo's to incredible degree but sure enough i'm convinced I've captured something on the moon and judging by the size it was BIG.

Here's the youtube links to the footage...

also found this...

in which the craft? appears to be heading around to the dark side of the moon

This is one of my photo's...the others show strange white lights in front of the moon and another shows a silver? disc like object casting what appears to be a shadow on the moon's surface but this is the one that I found the most interesting as it's I think somewhat similar to the footage seen above.

The only thing I have done to this photo is enlarge it from the original (if someone would like the original i'd be happy to e-mail it to them as this will probably look pixelated? but we'll see judging by my other uploaded photo's)

Take a look....save the photo if you can and try and enlarge it even bigger (as you may not see it clearly here) cut the moon in half horizontally and move along this imaginary horizon (centre) to the right until you reach the dark section mid-way...there hopefully will see a small light...if you can zoom in on it (ignore the light down in the bottom right we'll assume that's a star?) now can someone tell me what that is???
Because it's BIG...so not the surveyor or possible satellite and it appears to actually be on the moon or very very close to it and casting a shadow to the noth of it.

With my original photo and new PC i am able to zoom in fairly close before losing clarity but to my mind it's something and it's very strange...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IT IS?

Sorry Darryl hijacked your thread a bit here but it's just so strange!

Well that is a little disappointing.
The photo is small here, perhaps if any of you viewing this can save it and then enlarge it, maybe then you will see what i'm talking about.
Still, if you look hard enough and get close enough you should just about see the circular object.

What is it?

The surveyor? nah (unless someone knows different? i like the truth) an orbiting sat? or craft? maybe but if you can see it from this distance then surely it must be BIG?

Any ideas folks?

Oh and now i really will start to sound like a theorist because i also noticed something strange in this photo on NASA's official website showing a BRILLIANT 'Earthrise' shot.
Click on it, click on it again to enlarge full screen and then will someone please tell me what that is between the highest ridge on the Moon (to the left) and half up in space heading towards Earth?

It looks like it's actually in the photo...so not a photographic error i think (don't forget they used film in these Apollo days) but it does not look like a scratch to me or booster rockets etc? again i'm open to the truth though whatever it may be...anyone?

Here's the link...

I was so curious i e-mailed NASA themselves but nothing back so far.

Paul....I am so glad you are back! Please email me ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ).
I have been appointed Co-Lead of LM1's UK Chapter (we are an official branch of the mission and are in direct communication with the team - for example we are having a teleconference tonight) and I want to tell you all about it as I know it is the kind of engagement you have been waiting for!

Abi...it's GOOD to see ya Again.

Come on let me have it :)

What do you make of these photo's of mine?

I'm desperate to know what they are...had one person comment 'they were interesting' ages ago (I concur) but any ideas?

Wouldn't it be strange if they actually were the unthinkable? and the rumours over the years actually were true!

Anyway hope we'll be reading more of you in the near future...i'm pretty bored of my own postings :) I just would like a few answers to them is all.

Maybe I am just going to have to live with not knowing.

Stick around Abi.
