I have now read the update from David Iron (a tip of the hat to this gentleman) and yes it reads very encouraging.

Astrobotic is a very interesting company and the Lunar Rover Delivery from Team HAKUTO is very similar to something we've suggested previously on these forums.
If they're going for the XPRIZE award by using this (as is required to win it) then maybe we should try something a bit different and even more exciting...a 'MOON DRONE' now that would be different and pioneering.

But how to control it from Earth? well obviously some kind of relay and there's the advantage of it not being able to crash into any buildings (that we know of)

As for the FOOTSTEPS on the MOON well when told that the merch was over I was hoping we could still upload our tootsie's so I cropped an old picture from LOCH NESS with my father and sister and tried to upload it...it seemed to except it but has not shown up yet.
So I hope uploading is still possible and that this one shows up soon.
Would like to do a newer, better one but I have no idea if there is a cut off date (like you I figured we had until next year 2016)
I guess if it's not up by tomorrow we'll know our answer and know that we've missed out , there doesn't seem to be too many photo's there considering the amount of members we have, I had expected far more but then again I don't think (sadly) that many of our members read or post to these forums, otherwise I'd have expected it too have been far busier
