I know it's not really the place for SPORT TALK....I really could talk about football for hours

But I am in awe of our team GB (even those folks that haven't medalled and those that argghhh just missed out in 4th sometimes losing not only a medal but actually within 6 100ths of a second of actually winning the Gold)

Makes you proud don't it? & you just know your getting older when you hear about all the hard work & difficult times they've gone through to achieve their goals and the eyes begin to go a little.

And when the athletes talk to Phil (at the side of the track) then it can get real emotional...damn, I really am getting old, the Jessica Ennis interview with Kat (Katrina Johnson) was awesome! both women were FANTASTIC, a great effort from both, a real credit to this nation.
The list is endless, the swimmers, gymnasts, athletes, rowers, badminton players, cyclists (used to love this as a kid....we really were like The GOONIES  ) and even Justin Rose has got in on the action with a GOLD in the Golf...loved his attitude here!

VERY VERY PROUD of everyone...including all those in Brazil that have put on this great show, let's hope this last week or so all goes well and Team GB can continue to have one of their best games ever!
Come on Andy (Murray that is...currently watching him in the Tennis final trying to defend his title)

Hope to go to a Winter Olympics one day (it's on my must do, wish list)
LOVE SPORT (sorry)

Just when you think it can't get any better for Team GB it just does...

Andy Murray won the Tennis (blimey can this guy battle) but credit to Del Potro who gave his all in this super Final.

Jason Kenny, Laura Trott, Max Whitlock (2 x GOLD's) Dujardin in the Horse Dressage (not my kinda thing really but AWESOME!!!)
Sophie Hitchon (the 1st woman to win an Olympic Hammer Medal) Yee-Ha that was one gutsy final throw lady.

Mark Cavendish finally gets the Olympic Medal he always wanted (silver) through some great tactics to keep the Dane behind him.

Great Briton...Perhaps as the word suggestions...still the greatest small nation on the planet? diverse, friendly, picturesque and generally good natured & amazingly & currently beating the likes of China & Russia...oh Russia

So glad BOLT won the 100m too...he's obviously getting older but he created Olympic History last night beating Gatlin again (the likes of who I cannot believe have the nerve to show up frankly, he was found guilty of doping twice!!!! some of us might forgive once (sorry but i couldn't) but twice! how can they live with themselves knowing in their own minds that they knowingly cheated and won or took medals or a final place from others by ways of help (through cheating) is better to finish 8th CLEAN in a final be it running, throwing, jumping or whatever than to finish 1st by way of cheating.

And that's what I like about the GB Team...pretty much clean and fair and true.
Sorry I moved off topic a little there with the politics but cheats are beyond the pale...Stay true to yourself...although it appears there are still some that are more than happy to not to do so and to live with the knowledge they cheated (SAD aren't they?)

I LOVED the 1st Brazilian Gold Medal (female Judo) who was raised in the slums and provided pure joy to millions of proud Brazilians....COOL B)

Sorry I know no one's reading this as it's so off topic and generally I suppose folk interested in Space, the Moon & Astronomy are not your typical sports fans but i'm just LOVING this Olympics.

Another GREAT day for GB and now already (with 4 days to go) our 'BEST EVER AWAY GAMES' come on! even you folks not in the UK can see that's pretty AWESOME!

The 2 Laura's failed to medal in the 1500m :( but what an effort from both, Muir went for Gold (probably a tactical error that almost certainly cost her the bronze...but god love her for it...gutsy courageous woman) Weightman? that spiked injury did her no favours...but you were an Olympic FINALIST (how proud are we!!!)
A quick word on the woman finishing 3rd U.S.A's awesome Jennifer Simpson her reaction to winning the Bronze was delightful, the joy on her face after finally achieving an Olympic Medal after all those years!!! BRILLIANT!

Of course for we Brits that watched last nigh the cyclists really did us proud, Laura Trott became the BEST British Female Olympian (she's only 24!!!) she now has 4 GOLD MEDALS from 2 Olympics...her face is a picture, clearly a caring & lovely girl and then there's her other half Jason Kenny...

WHAT A RACE...nearly disquailified, but COOL as a cucumber...when he slipped to 3rd he looked around with around a lap and a half to go and I thought he was looking to see if he could hold on for the Bronze...cue the afterburners....Swwwisssshhhhhhh.....GOLD
One of the Best most Tense & Exciting Bike race I've ever seen.
This understated, humble man (again only 28) is now Britons joint GREATEST Olympian along with Chris Hoy who for anyone watching like me on BBC1 was terrific as co-presenter with the also perfect Clare Balding.

I'm just gonna big up the BBC here too who have yet again provided super coverage of this Olympic Games with everyone of their presenters & commentators in fun form...Helen Skelton's presentation style could not be more different but she was a breath of fresh air! FUN FUN FUN!
Oh and City won 5-0 away in the Champions League Quailifying 1st Leg...so I am VERY HAPPY :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Who reads these threads anymore?

No matter...Congrats must go to 58 year old Nick Skelton (Britain's 2nd oldest Olympic GOLD medallist)

Come on GB let's make it our BEST EVER GAMES!!! surpassing our home games in 2012.

BTW: The INVASION is on  at the MOVIES that is!

That TRAILER for "Arrival" looks kinda cool, it seems to be a calm and considered one on what might happen should such an event ever happen...
how might we contact them? how would they look? a true proper alien may well look very much different than we can even imagine (as they would seem to be in this trailer, although we're only given a quick glimpse! as it should be in a trailer...all to often they spoil these films before we've even got to the cinema or brought the blu ray)

Would you be willing to set foot inside that massive ship? it would take some courage for sure but what an experience...I think I would given the chance in the hope that a highly intelligent species would not feel the need for any threatening action towards us? who knows how such a species evolved? perhaps a threatening behaviour is built into their dna? but if such things showed up we would need knowledge of them some way.
Looks like a very interesting film to me.

No other country has EVER hosted an Olympic Games & then gone on to surpass the medals won at them in the following Olympics.

GB is just 5 medals from creating Olympics HISTORY...Truly AWESOME!!!

In honour of everyone of them in the GB Team & all those that helped them...here's the LONDON 2012 Poster Artwork that is simply FUN FUN FUN,

Can't wait for JAPAN in 2020...now there's a country I would LOVE to vist :)
