SpaceX are testing the abort system on their Dragon ship at Cape Canaveral. This will maybe become the new shuttle service for the ISS. Some cool video here.

Very impressive demonstration and credit due to SpaceX. I wouldn't fancy being in the capsule in the initial phases, seeing the way it was tumbling around in the air. Still though, if it saved one's life who could complain.
See that Apollo-era picture where the thrusters were above the capsule? Wouldn't fancy that
Minnaloushe creeps through the grass,
From moonlit place to place,
The sacred moon overhead,
