Yeah there is a quote that says if 1% of the people who can afford to spend $300 (so not necessarily 1% of everyone) do so then that would give them $4.5bn (the thousand million one not the hundred million I assume.)
"It predicted $4.5Bn global revenues, half from the USA, and approximating to 1% of those who could afford the core $300 product of DNA plus information. Many more could afford smaller amounts, but the net contribution would be small. One key to the globalization of revenues is the sense of ownership that people feel."
Makes sense I suppose.
Competitions, giveaways and such sounds like a good idea. even if the reward is a discount. Doesn't have to be free. Or some sort of lottery? pay £1 and be in for a chance to win a ticket to the launch or simply a t shirt with 10 to give away.

Just had an idea regarding international attraction. Perhaps website translation options would help? Pick a few major languages like Spanish and French, have a few flag thumbnail icons to click somewhere visible and voila the website appears in another language.
Slightly more ambitious but I believe doable you could add a translate button to forum posts. So if someone on the French website is seeing English or Spanish written comments perhaps the button could run the post through a basic translator and make it appear in French? I've seen a similar function on YouTube occasionally but doesn't always appear.

This is my first post to this forum, and it may not be in the right place, but "what the hey?" . . . here goes.
I went along to the event last Saturday and, like many attendees was left thinking "what can I do to help?" As a tour guide specialising in ancient Roman sites like Hadrian's Wall, my first thoughts were "not a lot". However, I soon started to see there was at least a little potential there. A few years ago, I supplemented my modest income giving talks and lectures to wide variety of organisations. Not just history societies, but The Women's Institute, Probus, etc. All groups you wouldn't traditionally associate with LM1, but who are always a keen and willing audience for anything interesting - especially if the speaker is prepared to give their time free of charge.
It struck me that Saturday's audience was:
(a) Geographically diverse
(b) Composed of predominantly excellent communicators.
So, what about a team of 'Local Ambassadors' to visit groups in their area and give talks on LM1?
Just a thought.

Thank you and welcome Sammy. Go say hello in 'introduce yourself'
Back to your suggestion, it is a good one, and one we did discuss in the 2nd Marketing Lab. The idea of Ambassadors going into Schools, Scout clubs, Women's Institutes, Rotary Clubs. I think something could come of it in the months to come.

The Lunar Mission One Lottery - What a great idea! Winner gets a ticket to the launch. I'm in!
Also - someone on Saturday had an idea to pay money over a period of time for a launch or landing ticket. This could last the next 6 or so years. That would interest me for one.
