International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is a NASA-sponsored annual worldwide celebration of lunar science and exploration. One day each year, everyone on Earth is invited to unite and observe and learn about the Moon and its connection to planetary science, and share personal and community connections we all have to the Moon.

"Some part of our being knows this is where we came from. We long to return, and we can, because the cosmos is also within us. We are made of star stuff. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.”

Thank you for posting this, me and my family took part in this last year in Venice. You can print a certificate of participation which is great for kids (my son has one on his wall).
Also thanks for putting up the preview of the OU module 'Planetary science and the search for life" on the OU forums, which I am enrolled on for the October start date.
