I'd have to say I'm not a great fan of the 'karma' thing myself and forums can function quite well without it.

See that's my problem with it. Someone with a grudge against another user hitting the minus button. It's a form of bullying and we don't need it. Thanks are enough imho.. Still... it's not up to me, so no point fretting

yeah the grudge thing is why it can only be done every 6 hours but yeah I agree we will live without it. It does help to have something though that's an opposite to a thanks for anyone who may be trash talking and swearing and such as I believe anyone can now register. I guess anyone can just be reported to mods or admins like your selves though.

When we get bigger, the mod team will really be depending on the membership to report such posts using the report to a mod button. This sends a message to the team with the name of the reporter and a reason for the report. This will allow the team to decide what action needs to be taken.vwsrnings can be issued and bans of various durations can be applied.

Seems decent enough. Yeah karma thing I could take it or leave it I'm not fussed either way. Time for me to get some sleep. Even Luminauts need to sleep once in a blue moon.

Personally I can see a need for the karma function on some forums, thinking some gaming sites etc. However I don't think it fits in with this forum though. Early days and I am sure the forum will grow and evolve over the years.
