Now who knows if we here on EARTH (or for that matter even we if we manage to venture into Outer Space and colonise other Planets and/or Moons) will ever see the typical HOLLYWOOD 'Alien Invasion' scenario pitched against us one day somewhere.

Let us assume (for it truly would be a rather remarkable place if we are alone in this Universe) that there are other species out there (and some may be so old that they might seem like GODS to us) are they likely to attack and/or invade us?

I think this highly unlikely...Why? I would dearly like to think that any such alien civilizations would have become so advanced & intelligent that they would know and have all they need and so the question why would they see fit to invade & attack a planet such as ours?
It is not impossible that it's within their DNA (however advanced and old their civilization may be) but that would be a little sad don't you think? a bit like a Klingon Empire perhaps? because where does it stop? would they be happy once they owned and had the entire Universe? and what then? seek out other possible Universes? and then what?
If there is an alien civilization fairly close at hand & they are not too advanced than us (let's say a few thousand years...not much in the scheme of things) then those are the one's we might want to be wary of...for if they are anything like SOME humans they may well still be in this Invade & Conquer mode.

No, I think the chances are they are well past this point (and they don't kill each other as we do) but just WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE THEY ARE STRIVING FOR? what drives them on? What do they believe in? what are they looking for? Do they have the answers we'd all like to know such as is there anything after death? do they know how the Universe was created?

It has been said that the early part of the Universe out there is many Millions of Years older than where we are...
Now can you imagine a species that was created all that time ago, imagine a Human like civilization that hopefully did not kill & destroy each other (all because you've got that and we don't and you believe in that and we don't and we don't want you believing that! how SAD are we at this moment in time?) and is still around today and continuing to advance...Would they have changed their form? from all those millions of years ago? just how advanced have they become? (we've come quiet a way in such a short length of time already) might they almost seem like GODS to us?
Would they need bodies even? strange one that but the idea of some civilizations building things such as Dyson Sphere is NOT out of the question? A Dyson Sphere is a structure that is built around a Sun (Star) to harness the energy from it for use...of course any species doing this I would like to thnk would make sure they are not taking away these natural power sources from other planets within that system that might need it!
Some have said building such structures would require so much material that it's madness (there wouldn't be enough material in their own system to do so) BULL (sorry) if they are that advanced then I have no doubt they could create and manufacture strong, lightweight materials to engulf a Sun, how? I have no idea but if you are millions of years in advance of us then it would follow you might be able to do pretty much almost anything = GOD like.

Can you imagine meeting such a species??? and yet despite that advancement (a species that might actually be able to create their own Suns perhaps? don't forget ours will die out one day and shall be gone! or will it? I would like to think if we stick around here (unlikely I know) but still as we currently know it this is and has always been our Home? so why not try and keep it rather than let the Sun grow and destroy it...if we are still around this far into the future we may well be able to control our suns death and even regenerate it or create another to replace it) but what of this species that seem God like? what might they now be striving for? or are they simply GUARDIANS of the GALAXY sorry couldn't resist that one.

In all seriousness JUST WHAT SPECIES are out there? how MANY? and just how ADVANCED are they? and what is that they now STRIVE for?

I do hope one day we shall meet them (if we haven't already?) and that we shall learn great things from them.
