I am calling it a day here.
Sadly (apart from Darryl from time to time) this board really is now pretty much dead...my time simply isn't worth it.
In my own way I tried to keep it alive but no one seemed interested? and I am someone that will discuss pretty much anything & NOT just UFO's
Lunar Mission One has pretty much been put into amateur hands now from what I've been told, so at this current point in time i could NOT honestly recommend to anyone thinking of signing up that they should do so (in fact I was told numbers had actually GONE DOWN!!) i am just being honest here and it's sad to say but it looks highly unlikely as of this time that this project will make it to the Moon in it's current form...and LM1 should be truthful with regards to this matter!
GOD BLESS them they tried & it all started so well (BBC Tv news & Magazine interest)
I have no idea where all the money went ? (I've asked and would have liked to have known? was it well spent? was it spent at all?) i know that fundraising projects are risky and we knew this going into it but somehow I had expected more...a BIG EARLY PUSH, more signed up here, more on these Forums.
I was INCREDIBLY EXCITED by this Mission (a first publically funded SPACE MISSION carrying what could be an ARK of INFORMATION up to the MOON and a record showing that we existed and at least got to a certain point in time) and who knows it may yet somehow find the funding it needs by appealing to many thousands of folks on the internet? but reading between the lines it seems highly unlikely from what I've been told.
I would have TARGETED for all it's worth the NOSTALGIA FACTOR around Christmas Time, possibly helped by pairing up with one, two or a handful of hopefully BIG companies (the likes of TESCO, ASDA, SAINSBURY's, MORRISON's etc)...to get it off the ground...i also would have been ok for them to have advertising rights and in so doing advertising the fact that such a project existed!
I still believe this could have been one of the biggest & BEST gifts ever! year on year all the way up to launch.
A unique gift for someone you perhaps find it difficult to buy for (be it a father, mother, son, daughter, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, nephew, friend or new born baby even!) and the advertising possibilities could have been endless...we even discussed a few early on within the old Kickstarter forum board.
I wish LM1 the very best of luck getting this off the ground & getting the funding needed and no one would be happier than I should this project make it to the Moon...I really did want my father's DNA up there on the MOON so that hopefully in later life I could look up to it and know that a small piece of him was up there! it genuinely would have made me smile
And just in case you didn't know yes I do believe one way or another there is something out there and they have probably known about us for a long time...the BIG Question is do we know about them? again I think we probably do...there's no smoke without fire...and there's been an awfully lot of smoke over the past 50 years or so.
Only today I recorded and watched the very 1st episode of 'Yes Minister' a superbly written British comedy series and would recommend it to anyone out there, it's very clever but funny with it and this 1st episode probably spelt out what I and many believe...that the Government you vote into power actually only has a fraction of the real power!
I would like to THANK Darryl (we didn't agree on some things clearly but I respect your thoughts and it was fun chatting), Mike whose art I truly LOVED & miss THANK-YOU & ANGELA LAMONT too who as our head spokesperson for this project seemed ideally suited and was a great plus to this project I believe, she spoke wonderfully.
Should LM1 not launch i am forever hopeful they will somehow honour their pledge to all the Kickstarters and later members here and perhaps piggy back up there somehow on another mission enabling our Data Collections & hopefully DNA samples to make it up there to that wonderful body we call THE MOON.
GOODBYE, FAREWELL, AMEN (a little final M.A.S.H. episode salute to all you folks)

I've kept a little bit of an eye on things. I've had email alerts on all the topics from the start it does seem like the forum is pretty dead but generally when you look around articles and thing are out of date and yeah its not looking so good right now. I didn't invest too heavily only £60 so you know you win some and lose some I guess. I'll still take a look at lm1 once in a while but it does seem like from the start there hasn't been that much interest. They may have severely over estimated the early support and funding they would get but who knows really.
I haven't read into a lot but you would think by now there would be some public progress but right now it does seem a bit dead. It is however a marathon not a sprint so we shall see what happens. The ambition and variety in this project is huge, perhaps too much so. It's a mission about drilling, time capsules, and archive building and educational projects on a global scale. Perhaps too much? We will see eventually when we either get a "great news everyone!" post or a "unfortunately things haven't gone so well" post. Ill be keeping a casual eye on this though I'd like it to work.

Hello,
"Marathon not a sprint" is a great way of putting it, Fawkes!! The technical work is active, the education pilot is just launching and talks about hosting our mission (eg linking up with an industrial consortium that can get our lander to the Moon) have never ceased and we're exploring some good possibilities right now. As we move into these next exciting phases, our activities are led and coordinated by the charity, Lunar Missions Trust.
We are painfully aware though, that this particular forum simply hasn't worked - it was launched when we didn't really have the momentum of a large enough number of active members to allow it to survive and so you'll find most of our postings are now on social media - mostly Facebook and Twitter, as that's where we've found we get the most responses.
We fully intend to try to 'awaken' the public collaboration again, with a new platform that is about to be tested...so don't give up on it quite yet! But for now, following us on Facebook and Twitter will not only get you a better picture of what's happening, but also give you more like-minded people to interact with, which has got to be more fun than doing something that feels like you're getting no response, right?
Thank you SO much for all your support and energy so far and I do hope that you continue to support us through this quieter time. We'd love to be more communicative but I'm sure you appreciate that the limited budget we're working with at the moment means that we can't afford to do all the stuff we'd like to, as we're trying to make sure that every penny you gave us leads to getting to the Moon )
