Paul Conway created the topic: A DNA Clue to HOW Humans 'Evolved' Big Brains
I smiled (a little) when I heard and read this news as it's only a few weeks & months ago I brought up this missing? and / or strange DNA strands we humans seem to have or don't have thus possibly challenging DARWIN and the likes (EINSTEIN) which seems like a NO, NO to many still today.

Kids NEVER be afraid to QUESTION things...Challenge your Teachers! but do with respect & listen to them, they are teachers for a reason, HOWEVER it does not mean everything they were taught to teach you is right! if you disagree with them research it yourself you just never know where it may lead you?

I have no doubt DARWIN & EINSTEIN are remarkable people & brought about much understanding in their fields & they did this the best way they could with the tools and information at their disposal at the time but I do think they would be AMAZED at the tools we have today (and will have in the future) if they were around today might they have changed their minds on some aspects of their findings?

This was very interesting news...it's been reported that humans may in part owe their developed big brains to a DNA 'typo' in their genetic code.

It would seem that this MUTATION is NOT found in humans closest living relative, the delightful 'Chimpanzee'

So as humans evolved these brains became larger (clearly) and so with it more complex enabling them to process & store more information.

They used 300 years of computing power for these findings...and I shall provide a few links to this story below which are most interesting.

Now you know me by now :P i think this whole place in which we live is far more stranger than we realise (never mind outer space) and I am not saying that this missing or strange DNA that we know little or nothing about is ALIEN DNA but just WHAT IF?
At least leave room for this possibility, far fetched though it maybe to some, yet if you think about it we humans did seem to evolve far quicker than other species? did we not? why? and how? this finding might provide the beginnings to answering these questions.

You know of my LOVE for films (especially science fiction) and wouldn't it just be Mind Bending if something similar to that scene at the beginning of "Prometheus" or that fantastic ending to the under-rated Brian De Palma directed film "Mission to Mars" in which like the previous film showed Earth being seeded.
Personally I want it to be a Alien Monolith that changed our DNA :woohoo: but it might even be stranger than this? and we did simply evolve from Apes? but I have a gut feeling there's something very unique about us (I mean just look at our faces!!! they're all pretty much different! what's with that?)

It's all so very interesting.

"Mysterious episodes of genetic duplication in our great ape ancestors"

Keep an open mind folks i'm sure the TRUTH will out eventually.

BTW anyone else read the strange news of the strange tower structures on MARS? they may simply be strange natural structures? but I have to say that the spacing between these three tower like structures (which appear to be of a similar shape, design & size) is curious...why don't they send that rover over to this? or is too far away? or might they just already know? there does seem to be a number of strangely shaped objects on Mars...come on Rover find that ancient alien city
Again, at least keep an open mind folks, I think things will be discovered in the future that will be far stranger than this should it ever be proven to be the case.

Oh and here's the news links...
