There seems to have been no update since January 4, 2016, exactly one year ago.

I note there is an active Facebook page and Twitter account, but these are just posting general space news.

Hello Paul Conway, I note you are about the only one active on the forums for a long time.

What is the outlook for the project? When will it launch? Next year? Or is it still years away?

I would love to get a proper update.

Hello to both Hermit & Time (sounds like an interesting new sci-fi series don't it?)

Hope to find you folks here more often?

Gave things a rest over Christmas but noticed your requests.

So here goes...

You would be about right with regards to updates here...this is sadly pretty much a 'GHOST TOWN' and very few (if any) updates appear here :(
having said this there is this recent LM1 2016 STATEMENT posted here on this very site (shock horror) that should answer a good number of your questions and can be found here...

lunarmissionone.com/whats-happening/the-...nual-summary-of-2016

The Tax problems was something I and I am sure you were unaware of? why it was not disclosed I have no idea? but it explains a lot!
Good on 'em for taking them to court & i'll certainly be hoping we win this one...I don't want a good percentage of this £672,447 raised by we 7,297 Luminauts heading into the governments coffers...if anything the government should be helping us fund it (but after Bre-exit it might be a hard sell?)
It also explains the decision to place Darryl (a jolly good chap & fellow backer) in a more senior role trying to get the mission idea out there (through radio interviews and the like)

I will say here & now (again) that I do not believe this will be a goer without other 'BIG' companies help backing it (they could advertise or sponser this exciting venture) personally I think we should have tried to go real BIG from the off, investing in Tv & Newspaper Ads just around pre-Christmas time (i still feel this has the possibility of being one of the BEST SELLING Christmas Presents over the next few years 'IF' we can get it to come together)

It's not the most comprehensive statement in the world but it's something and considering what's occurred it makes sense to me, I think deep down although we ALL hoped it would remain a totally publically funded mission it was plainly obvious this was unlikely...get those BIG companies in LM1 and let's get this off the ground.

I'm ever the optimist and with a little help & luck we might just launch in the year stated of 2024 heading down to the South Pole on the edge of Shackleton Crater (more of that later) and all our data and dna samples might just be onboard (fingers crossed...my wish is that many mahy years from now hopefully I will look up to this place and gently reflect that we got something to the moon and can even say hi dad :cheer: as I hope his DNA strand will be up there)

Will the drill be included? well I do hope so drilling down to at least 20m (beating the current record of approx. 2m) would be thrilling and who knows what we might find (there is even talk of going as deep as 100m)
The honest to god's truth though would be that if given the choice drilling or getting our private digital archive memory boxes & hopefully DNA samples up there or having this drill then most backers i'm sure would go with the achives.
Let's hope we get it all (with help from BIG backers) and perhaps even more...a VR drone or Rover, Selfie Camera/Screens (a screen on the LM1 ship displays our photo's which can be displayed within the pop-up/out camera to take a shot with the Moon surface & Earth in the background) this could be a nice little money earner...all to be piled back in to hopefully future missions?

All of these details can be changed and we all knew it was a risky mission in many respects (funding as well as the mission itself) but damn I LOVED that they have tried to get the PUBLIC involved & for that I will be forever grateful to Mr David Iron (the founder)

Let's just hope it all works out for the best? but if not let's just hope we get a little something to show for it (a piggy back mission placing our data on the Moon) but if not even that? then let's give any monies over to a GOOD charity.

I AM STILL VERY HOPEFUL.

The Facebook site seems to be the place to vist for updates about LM1...although if you read that statement it mentions yet another webpage (you might ask do we really need another one?) but facebook's page if nothing else is always a fun and interesting read for SPACE fans.

Hope this helps folks...Best Wishes to you in 2017.
