Hi There UFO & ALIENS fans 
So the rumour goes Arthur C. Clarke wrote the novel "2001 A Space Odyssey" and the screenplay for that BRILLIANT film in 1968 (one of my all-time favourites) and was told by someone in the SPACE Programme or in the know that they had discovered such a thing years before he wrote this book (probably around the early to mid 1960's)
A Monolith (of alien origin) that transmitted sounds and/or a signal, yes it will be hard to believe for many I am sure.
A film that may? just may have a little truth about it?
I'd read about this many years ago but could not remember where (my memory is sadly not as it was i'll admit) although it was probably on the web during it's early years (early 90's?) I have tried looking / searching but have as of yet never found it again, sadly, as i'm a huge fan of this film, well that is until now (kind of)
I am fairly sure this is NOT the source that I originally read about this, as I am fairly sure it was NOT a UFO site like this one and there was more on Arthur C Clarke himself (if anyone does have the link or still knows where to find this? I would appreciate you letting me know as I would LOVE to read it again) anyhow this might not be that exact posting but by shear accident whilst posting that link to the Antarctica posting (it had better not be NAZI'S
) I found this which is along the same lines...
A Monolith apparently witnessed by the Apollo 10 crew whilst in Space heading around the Moon, it does not really say if it was actually on the Moon? or if it was in Space (like the Black Knight satellite perhaps which is rumoured is some form of monitoring craft that's transmits a signal perhaps relaying information back to where ever it came from? & not necessarily back though Outer Space either
)
If I remember right the version I read I think stated that the Monolith was on the ground (probably on our Moon's surface?) although strange structures are rumoured to have been seen on both Venus? & Mars? and there's certainly in my eyes some damn weird unnatural looking shapes & structures on Ceres & Pluto unless my eyes & brain are tricking me?
But reading this it would almost seem to be a Space based object and if the story of that secret space shuttle mission to retrieve it is true? and who knows if it is or not? i'm sure they had advanced craft of this type even back then in the 1960's but as to one suited up and went on a mission to get it many would say this is unlikely, me? I wouldn't be surprised by anything really at this point.
It's not a long piece but even if fiction it was interesting to find something similar to that I had read with concerns to a real Monolith out there.
