I found this explanation to be interestingly thought out & plausible.

Of course I would LOVE a truly HONEST short 10 minute CHAT with the person in CHARGE of NASA to get an explanation for all those other incidents that seemed to occur on just about every Shuttle Mission ever put up there including the one that is the real WOW!
Which is "The Tether Incident"
The Astronauts can declare whatever they like (probably under orders) that these are debris or ice crystals and the like but you DON'T even have to be that clever to realise that those things around this tether were under control, large and were NOT any such thing but I do enjoy them sticking with this line of rebuke, it both amuses & frustrates me.
Still, this mission (STS-48) has always been interesting due to that object being fired upon, let's hope it was ours (a kind of target practice) for if this was an alien ship then what in the world are we doing trying to shoot down a friendly ship? (ok if NOT friendly then let's BRING THAT SUCKER DOWN
)
But seriously folks, this SPACE FLEET that America probably has by now and this STAR WARS PROGRAM was probably where ALL that missing DEFENCE Budget went
I'm damn sure we now have craft that can probably visit these outer worlds & moons within our own Solar System which so interest me & others.
Earth to Pluto in less than an hour or two? why not?
Was this all a waste of Money? or Money well spent?
We'll probably never know...for example was that BASE on CERES built buy us? & if so at what cost to the American public? or was it privately funded? yup the ELITE again wanting more POWER & WEALTH (it will NEVER be enough for those folks) then again that base could be of alien origin? but I have an inkling (need to get that sorted)
that it's ours and we have perhaps set up a mining base on this Dwarf Planet...I know you folks reading this don't believe that & that's OK, i'll open my mind for ALL of us.
