Paul Conway created the topic: OSCAR Nominations including "ARRIVAL"
LOVE FILMS...they have provided me with a great deal of escapement when I needed it if the truth be told...ALL kinds too, i'll watch anything!
So clearly I love the OSCARS too and this year although I have not seen any of the 9 nominated BEST PICTURE films this year there are 4 that very much interest me...
"ARRIVAL" who would have thought a science fiction picture would make the frame? interesting, I could say there's more behind this film being nominated than might meet the eye (almost a subconscious kick to the minds of people watching around the world?) but I won't as from what little I have read it deserves to be here.
I am very much looking forward to seeing this one in about 3 weeks time.
"LA LA LAND" I signposted this up awhile ago with that fun, breezy, whimsical trailer, a feel good film & don't we need them sometimes?
"HACKSAW RIDGE" Whatever you might think of Mel Gibson these days? (I loved most of his films) he is a very good director and he helped bring us this story that I was unaware of, the trailer shows that this gentleman was a remarkable man & HERO.
Perhaps Mel is finally getting his . . . . together.
and finally
"HIDDEN FIGURES" About the NASA women of colour who did just as much as anyone else but whom were (so it seems) treated disrespectfully at the time, shameful, they helped us to get to the MOON damn it!
Well I am sure there are still hidden figures within NASA to this day if you know what I mean?
So although these are the four which interest me most & I have not seen any of them I bet you can guess what i'll be cheering on right?
Yup "ARRIVAL" which has done well just to be here but "LA LA LAND" could do it? although MOONLIGHT seems to be running well now with critics?
We'll see...POPCORN at the ready
