So a BIG SHOUT OUT to Elon Musk & his Space X project / company.
He could well go down in HISTORY as a true pioneer.
Although 'Space X' does have some connections to NASA as I understand it, it is presented as a PRIVATE Company.
Elon Musk is without doubt setting the pace & both he and this company (SPACE X) are becoming something like the NASA we thought we might have had by now...let's just hope SPACE X are more forthcoming with things witnessed, seen & discovered (fingers crossed)
Some of NASA's missions are cool but when I was a kid I assumed they'd have been to MARS by now, had a BASE on our MOON (maybe they skipped this and went straight to CERES to put that one on there?) and by this time I figured we'd be well on our way to getting spacecraft fast enough to get us out to the outer planets & their moons with hopes of mining some of them?
It seems to me that this guy and others to follow might be about to finally do this (above) which I dreamed of when a child.
I suppose I had hoped LUNAR MISSION ONE might have become something like this, starting with this very cool mission to our MOON but then expanding it to include mining, trips & the like? I told ya I had imagination but it's true SPACE is still EXPENSIVE but I think those words "WHO DARES WINS" might be apt.
Certainly that trip around the Moon in 2018!!!! (wow) for these 2 private thrill seekers is AWESOME and i'm sure it's a guy like this (ELON) that might well set up that viewing platform base in high orbit one day which will then lead to something akin to a HOTEL in SPACE & then the MOONBASE Hoilday perhaps?
