For any of you folks reading this in the UK you might want to watch or set your recorders for what should prove an interesting programme on BBC4 tonight (Sunday 23rd April) starting at 9pm ending at 10pm.
Entitled "Seeing Stars"
It follows astronomers pushing the limits of science & engineering with the NEW generation of SUPERTELESCOPES (like the one about to go up later this year that they say might be able to actually photograph those EARTH like Planets in that TRAPPIST-1 system which if TRUE is remarkable!) and will hunt the MYSTERIOUS OBJECTS in the Universe...which as we know are now mounting up!
I nearly missed this...and I think it's a NEW Programme....says 2 of 15 so if a new run I missed just the one! pheww.
BBC's brilliant 'HORIZON' used to find a regular place on BBC2 at around this same time at 9pm but nowadays it seems it's been (I would say) relegated to here on BBC4 and this I find as it's normally one of my favourite programmes.
I guess it's just not popular enough but SNOOKER (Yawn) is...yup there's a snooker programme on BBC2 at the same time this far more interesting programme airs (something about 40 years at the crucible!!!)
Some of you folks in the UK might also enjoy the programme later tonight on CHANNEL 4 at 11pm - Midnight entitled "Man Made Planet : Earth from Space" it should be showing many of the amazing photographs taken during various missions by astronauts with them commentating on them.
Now as a good many of these do seem to show strange objects around them...especially during the APOLLO Missions I wonder if you'll be able to spot any when this airs tonight?
BTW Cassini has now been swept onto Saturn & thru it's ring system by a swing around one of my favourite Moon's 'TITAN' I do wonder if that message CD still survives down on that surface as it did not land in a liquid sea of methane but rather a rather rocky surface...would love to know as my message to those out there is on that thing!
Been a WONDERFUL Mission this but it's now on it's way to DESTRUCTION at SATURN...what a way to go...GLORIOUS.

Arghh a little disappointed with both these to be honest...more interesting was the 40th Anniversary 'SKY AT NIGHT' Special.
That was worth watching...they joked about 'ALIENS' at the end! yup these kind always do but the TIME WILL COME one day! if it hasn't already!
