So here's something unrelated to UFO's or ALIEN SPECIES (I know right?)

I only discovered this a few days ago but it's a rather FUN & COOL piece of 'SPACE MEMORIBILIA'

The PIONEER Mission it was decided would have a plaque attached to it showing our place in the GALAXY, what we LOOKED like & the size of us compared to this pioneer spacecraft as it ventured into Outer Space just in case it was ever picked up by an ALIEN SPECIES (duh! couldn't HELP myself)

It is rather expensive! and not for the average SPACE fan...

I guess you REALLY have to Love SPACE (both my father & I do) so despite it costing what I first thought was $99 was in reality $124 with shipping of $25 tagged on (it shows the P&P costs to various WORLDWIDE Destinations before you commit) but WOW is this COOL & DIFFERENT.
Lovely Packaging too...love the slingshot ARTWORK.

Sure to increase in value this one? (although this has been bought for my father for Christmas 2017 & so will NEVER be SOLD from our family)

The DESIGN came from Frank Drake, Carl Sagan & Linda Salzman (names you'll be familiar with here)

No doubt this fella will have made a great deal of money from it...and GOOD on him, it looks great & if you order one it should turn up at your home sometime in SEPTEMBER 2017 (just in time for Christmas) I plan on doing another Video Presentation to my DAD on Christmas Eve, projecting the video seen here on the BIG Screen & then giving him the Plaque / Presentation Pack.

Well this just got even better.

This PROJECT achieved the required funding a while back but because it has been successful, Duane the guy behind this has I have just found out managed to get the co designer of this plaque to PERSONALLY sign the Certificate of Authenticity.

Now this is COOL right?

Would have been GREAT had Mr Sagan himself still been with us to have done so too...I think he'd have been THRILLED!

So hopefully we should receive...

A beautifully illustrated protective FOLDER complete with unused PIONEER Sheet of Jupiter STAMPS, the PLAQUE itself of course (which should last FOREVER so perhaps get your name embossed on the back of it?) wrapped in TISSUE PIONEER Blueprints & now this signed by the co designer of the Plaque CERTIFICATE.

Still expensive i'll give you that but go on ADMIT it...RATHER COOL

Can't wait to see it close up & present it to my father Christmas Eve 2017...I just hope that presentation I made 2 Christmases ago with regards to Lunar Mission One's trip to the MOON will be successful ? and I can toast having at least a little bit of him up there for ALL TIME (I like the idea of looking up at the NightTime SKY & saying "Hi Dad")
His DNA and the stuff on the Data chip I would like to think would make for interesting reading / viewing by the ALIENS up there awaiting it

Ah UPDATE...

just read further and it looks like ONLY the 200 replica's will get this signature & card ARGHHH....these SOLD OUT quick!

Still, the Re Issue one's will also get a sticker to confirm their authenticity at least...and you watch I bet on the secondary market these will SKYROCKET See what I did there!

Mine's cost me $124 so that will end up being approx. £100 give or take either way a few pounds...so NOT CHEAP but i'd bet you any money a few of these will be selling days or weeks later for 2 or 3 x this price.

Of course we GENUINE 'Space' Fans will NEVER PART With them...well I say we but I know my father will LOVE IT coming originally from an ENGINEERING Background and when passed to me (I'll write this in his CHRISTMAS CONTRACT ) I shall NEVER sell it either it's just TOO COOL to SELL ON!

I'm still hoping LM1 is GO and is followed by the LM2 collect & scoop Mission (always wanted a genuine MOON Rock!)
MAKE IT HAPPEN Lunar Mission One

I HOPE at least a few of you got your small bank loan to get this thing which I HOPE will prove to be a BEAUTY upon 'ARRIVAL'

IT's ENDED & proved to be very popular indeed....think he wanted around $70,000 to get this thing going but has ended up with close to $300,000.

CLEARLY a Great 'SPACE' Business idea that hit a nerve with many SPACE ENTHUSIASTS.

He will NO DOUBT make a GREAT deal of MONEY from this venture & GOOD LUCK to him...I don't mind people doing so with things like this (once he has done the expensive hand crafted 200 the other REPLICA's (like mine) which amount to around 1,500 I think? will pretty much take care of themselves with the automation.

Packaging will add to the costs, the stamps are COOL, in issued but are available at a reasonable price elsewhere but it's the fact of having a PIONEER REPLICA the likes of which I grew up seeing as a young kid THANKS to my DAD (and will get to receive this hopefully on XMAS EVE)

I wonder if anyone will do a VOYAGER one? but I must say this is the ONE for US (I mean Dad )

If you managed to get one...ENJOY it, SAVOUR it, DISPLAY it & who knows Duane may well be right? and it will be one of the survivors one day from this place to add to the 3 currently out there (2 in SPACE & 1 at the museum)
