This NEW episode of "HORIZON" on BBC2 at 8pm on MONDAY sounds interesting so I thought I would flag it up for you folks in the UK.

"10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE FUTURE"

It will (so it says in my TV GUIDE) look to today's DATA to try & provide an evidence based TOMORROW's WORLD with answers to our BIGGEST QUESTIONS (I bet they're NOT my biggest Questions )

This will include...

1) Whether WE COULD LIVE FOREVER ? well FOREVER is a very long time indeed.
I certainly think we SHALL be able to CURE just about EVERYTHING BAD the Human Body can throw at us ONE DAY!
This being CANCER, Kidney, Liver & Heart problems, Respiratory problems, skin troubles all the way up to incurable BRAIN problems (for now, damn you ALTZEIMERS)
But to LIVE FOREVER...well they won't go down the RELIGIOUS route this being about SCIENCE not BELIEF but just what if it were ever proven that we DO somehow have a SOUL...a strange thing if true? but if so then the answer may well then be YES.

We shall no doubt EVOLVE more as Humans...some say we have NOW reached OUR NEXT LEVEL? really? IQ's are still averaging out at 100 (the same as some 30-40 years ago) I do sometimes wonder if we might not have gone backwards relying on technology as we do more!
If we could unlock that part of the Brain that eludes us for some reason which remains (so it would seem?) dormant then who knows what we may yet achieve, unlock the rest of DNA profile to go with it and they'll be ANSWERS here.

But even if we can't or don't for a good long time we are already improving with things like cures, limb replacement (which in some respects are better the flesh & bone versions we all have right now)

We may well become HALF HUMAN / HALF CYBORG types...many now think we will be able to input information directly into the BRAIN so that we could eventually know a different language within minutes or know the entire HISTORY of a specific subject "EGYPTOLOGY" for example! WHAT!!!

Live forever probably NOT but we might get pretty far down the road...with replacement parts & nanotech cures & the like I see no reason why HUMANS couldn't live for high hundreds of years (ESPECIALLY if they find that damn "AGEING GENE" Switch )

2) Will we see FLYING CARS ?
Geeezzz really??? I think this is a GIVEN, surely? it'll take time of course!
We'll probably still have the CAR for a good 30-50 years more i'd guess but they will almost certainly be CLEANER CARS (or they should be) SORRY BIG RICH OIL COMPANIES...You get investing in the GOOD batteries & the ELECTRICALLY POWER COMPANIES that will charge them! (i'll expect FREE ENERGY for that advice! when i'm older)
These new upgraded electric cars will LAST far more than just 200-300 miles per charge we have now, the batteries will probably be able to HOLD a charge that would get you well over 1,000 miles in one go.
Flying cars is a given...and will probably be safer than the cars we have right now! and very probably automated fly paths & clearly they will be faster and more direct so will get you there fast.

So flying Cars? of course we'll have personalised FLYING Transport eventually...they may even look like small SHPERICAL shaped craft...WAIT a MINUTE that explains everything!!! we don't just INVENT flying cars in the future we actually invent TIME TRAVEL CARS ? take me to ROSWELL, THE MOON LANDINGS, (I don't want to see JFK killed so i'll pass on that one) I'd like to REVIST myself as a child (HAD A GREAT WONDERFULLY JOYOUS Childhood so i'd like to see my little face back then ) oh & the BUILDING of the PYRAMIDS, a stop to view the DINOSAURS & Frankly (if safe enough?) i'd go right back to the CREATION of OUR UNIVERSE & before it to see just WHAT WAS THERE BEFORE IT ?

Bet they don't ask that one? but you know what it's not beyond the bounds of possibility (they say you couldn't go back in time? really HOW DO YOU KNOW ? I understand the concept and that we might be able to go into the future but not revist the past but like I said HOW DO YOU KNOW?
If we can continue to advance...
I'll have a small wager with you folks reading this that WE DO...invent the TIME TRAVEL MACHINE (we may discover it by accident...TRAVELLING to the STARS but I think in thousands of years time it's possible...

IN WHICH CASE...

Here is a very interesting thought for you (one I bet this brilliant programme won't come up with)

IF, we can eventually achieve TIME TRAVEL & could more or less do the LOT with regards to it...

Go into the FUTURE, the PAST & pick places & times to check out & we could TAKE GREAT Numbers with us & bring them back...then MIGHT we BE ABLE to RESCUE & SAVE EACH & EVERY HUMAN BEING that has EVER EXISTED take them into the FUTURE, explain to them what has happened, cure them if they need curing & rebuild their bodies (should they choose it? I bet if explained to them that they can die in the past or live pretty much forever most would take the forever option!) so they could last for who knows maybe forever.

SHOULD WE BE ABLE to live FOREVER we (the HUMAN RACE) would ALMOST certainly become GODS ourselves...

Which brings us back to ALIENS and the like...if we do eventually invent a TIME MACHINE might we have already done so?
For although you think & believe you/we are living in the PRESENT (it makes sense) how do you really know?
The ships or some of them we might be seeing in the SKIES (that are strange and alien like) might well be our FUTURE TIME TRAVELS...in which case...

Other WEIRD & WONDERFUL "WHAT IF's" i'd ask is (and the TIME TRAVEL is a BIG ONE...which is WHY I love that new Canadian / USA Tv series "TIMELESS") Could we eventually PASS through a BLACK HOLE ?
I know the power of the BLACK HOLE & using what we have today the straight answer is NOT A CHANCE but what about in the very far future? could we create a time warp bubble or some protective bubble to do so...and if successful WHAT WOULD WE FIND THERE ?
Most say there is nothing it just squeezes everything to ZIP, then there are those that say it may lead to ANOTHER UNIVERSE.... YEAH lets go with that one! (for now, WHY NOT)

WHAT IF...

That DNA I mentioned (The part we have NOT worked out yet) is eventually discovered to be part alien? some have said it's a grouping of alien DNA which makes us very different indeed) so would we still be HUMAN ? well YEAH, if that's our make-up so be it!

INTER-DIMENSIONS...bet they don't bring this up either BOO, i'll bet you anything because we know very little REALLY that there ARE SUCH THINGS!

AND then we COME to the BIGGIE...

Which they might approach (but probably not as again it concerns to some degree RELGION) and it's this...

IS THERE ONE (1) ALL POWERFUL GOD ?

One that created NOT just this...(our UNIVERSE)...but those OTHER UNIVERSES ? OTHER INTER DIMENSIONS ? and everything living in THEM ?

Well then that is a BIGGIE isn't it ?

I couldn't even guess at this one & HOW DID EVERYTHING GET STARTED ?
certainly (in my opinion) NOT just with THE BIG BANG that created our Universe and if there is such a GOD then all you can say is WOW! and THANKS!
But even this would then bring about more questions (as in the curious STAR TREK film "THE FINAL FRONTIER" which is NOT a GREAT film in the series of films but by golly does it BOLDLY GO WHERE VERY FEW if ANY other FILMS HAVE GONE BEFORE by asking...is there a GOD & if so then ok I am but an ant (not even an ant even, less than an ant) but i'd LIKE TO ASK YOU SOME QUESTIONS ANYWAY...."How did you come about?", how can something HAVE ALWAYS EXISTED? and is their a point in which you will CEASE to exist? & are your POWERS LIMITLESS?
