The KEPLER Mission is certainly one to be applauded.

And yet more EARTH LIKE planets have just be discovered (10 of them! ok NOT in the same solar system! WOW that was some find TRAPPIST-1 system) and in a funny way it might be for the best (if looking for intelligent alien species) that this is the case?

It's NO surprise (to me at least) that we are finding these Rocky type Planets at such distances away from their Sun's that would give us a chance of discovering such alien FRIENDS.

It's been a SLOW lead up really....I expected much of this kind of thing when I was if not a kid certainly a teenager or as an early adult.

I wonder if Brian Cox might be thinking...COOL...but no life there & if life then certainly NOT intelligent life, stick around Brian & the rest of you folks your in for a SHOCK, I think this very slow reveal over time is almost here!

And it would NOT surprise me if they KNEW EXACTLY where to LOOK for THEM (for obvious reasons that I don't think I need to spell out to you folks)

The BIG QUESTION is WHEN ???

WHEN ??? will THAT final reveal come about (a very good episode of 'HORIZON' a few years ago asked a good number of scientists how long before we find INTELLIGENT Alien Species out there ? and the answers came back fairly close to each other, in 5 to 15 years time with the average I think being around the YEAR 2023 need to watch it again to make sure but it was a little surprising so many of them were in the same BALL PARK figure)

Of course I expect it to be a little sooner than this date...as they probably ALREADY KNOW...I mean most of us know they're ALL around us anyway!

It will be announced...they'll be EXCITEMENT (yup even by I) but then they'll say we tested for life? and found it? they then targeted it for some form of signals? and found it but that they probably don't know what it is? what they look like & NOT to worry they're so far away they'll probably never be able to visit us .
The Days will pass & things will drift back to our version of NORMAL...Hope I am wrong....I WANT THE REALLY BIG REVEAL! but this moment will be FUN nevertheless WHEN it happens.

LET's have a PREDICTION Competition...I'll go first.

2021 (WHY NOT? so 4 years time with so many EARTH like PLANETS out there & probably knowing where to TARGET because they've been given their co-ordinates? that's my guess of when a truly intelligent alien species HOME WORLD will be revealed to us) get ya BETS on

I envy the young...they will GROW UP in a WORLD in which they HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN about ALIEN CIVILIZATIONS & it may be that ONE DAY we'll be seen as ADVANCED enough (not tech wise but you know in the HEAD to finally be able to JOIN them out there) but at least you folks that lived in this moment of time in which we know NOT of these species will be able to turn to those young un's & say I REMEMBER A TIME When...

YUP it's ALL ABOUT to CHANGE.

The FEW in the WORLD that already know will become the MANY...but it may still be many years after this date before anything really changes but at least we will have begun our new EVOLUTION (and my has it been a long time coming!) what THINGS might we DISCOVER OUT THERE ?
