I recently acquired & added to my 2001 A Space Odyssey Collection.

And within the inside of the cover was this quote...



Now THAT is something to THINK about huh? sends a shiver down the spine! fairly profound isn't it? and how many have REALLY made a DIFFERENCE ?

I am NOT talking of the BAD kind...WHY MENTION THEM ? no of the GOOD & GREAT kind ? very few I would wager but we are steadily progressing, although I think we are probably due for another EVOULTIONARY leap? how that might happen is anyone's guess? but the manipulation of DNA might be one such way? along with scientific study to UNLOCK the full capacity of our Brains.

HOMO SAPIENS turned up around 2 Million Years Ago...we can argue about HOW? you may still believe the DARWIN THEORY ? I shall RESERVE Judgement until that TIME when we properly figure out our DNA fully (for I think there are STRANGE THINGS to be DISCOVERED within each & everyone of us)

The MODERN Form of 'EVOLVED' Humans showed up around 200,000 Years Ago (again it could be argued but it's around this number)

CIVILIZATION (as we know it) appeared ONLY 6,000 Years Ago!

INDUSTRIALIZATION can you believe arrived just in the 1800's

And the 1st HUMAN into SPACE ? The 12th of April 1961 by Russian YURI GARGARIN (I wonder if he saw anything strange whilst UP THERE?)

So as you can see WE ARE a very YOUNG Species.

In one form or another (if the MINORITY of IDIOTS on EARTH don't DESTROY Us & OUR HISTORY first) i can see we HUMANS still (HOPEFULLY) being around many THOUSANDS of YEARS from now.

But we might only need to HANG ON for the next 100 to 200 years by which time (if we have not already) we will have ventured out into OUTER SPACE & will have set up BASES, COLONIES & new HOMES off world on various PLANETS, MOON & SPACE STATIONS that should make sure of our survival?
We can but HOPE.

We OWE it to EVERYONE that ever came BEFORE US & everyone that MIGHT come into being in the FUTURE to stick around, EVOLVE, PROGRESS & become a BETTER, FAIRER SPECIES!

I LOVE these opening words within the cover of this Original 2001 a Space Odyssey (1968) USA Programme (One I have WANTED for YEARS!) I still can just about remember when they SOLD programmes within the FOYERS of the older CINEMA'S, you paid for your ticket & had the option to buy such a thing?
The last one I can remember buying in the cinema was my MOONRAKER (007) in 1979 (aged 11) after this I think they still created MOVIE PROGRAMMES but only to buy at retail outlets (but even that fizzled out around the late 1980's? the last i can remember buying is for another Roger Moore 007 outing "A View to a Kill" in 1985)

So Behind every MAN (and WOMAN) ALIVE stand 30 Ghosts...Chilling!

The 2nd part is equally chilling for if you were to see OUR GALAXY (The Milky Way) as a whole then that would show ALL THE PEOPLE that have EVER existed on PLANET EARTH as a STAR...and i LIKE THAT.

This programme is a BEAUTIFUL item...very PROFESSIONALLY done & like a work of art in of itself.

The final one shows the different materials used in the production of this...it has a see through tissue paper like pages to it with information pasted to them whilst positioned in such a way that you can see the photos behind it on the next page...RATHER COOL.

2001 A Space Odyssey is something that may have ALREADY occurred?

If so? i find that a real SHAME that EVERYONE here on EARTH could not be witness to it.
