I wonder if anyone has EVER posted such a letter before?

Certainly a curious thing to do i will admit (i would guess someone? somewhere? has done so) but WHY?

Well, should we ever CREATE such a TRULY independent thinking artificial intelligence...one that will question & think for itself then WE would have CREATED 'Life' probably electronic in nature, although at the rate we are progressing it might not simply be of the computer type design? but it may have a way to move around (perhaps better than we Humans) & interact with us.

So what will it's 1st independent THOUGHT be?
What will it want to do?
It may not occur for many hundreds of years (if ever?) but should it do so then it would be an INCREDIBLE moment.

In effect we would have created true ARTIFICAL LIFE & one that is very likely to be MORE intelligent than most (if not) ALL humans on the PLANET & unless we have somehow placed restrictions on it then it would have access to everything on the internet & might be so clever that it could well launch our weapons of mass destruction (as in the film WARGAMES) should it wish to do so? for it would surely have the ability to work out any codes needed.

This is why there is perhaps NO GOING BACK should we ever head this way...personally i am unsure if we ever should, what about you?

But should we do so? and with access to the internet probably through the ages (including this little hidden place) open to it, then it may well have accessed every piece of information down the ages that has ever existed and so i would like to say...

HELLO.
To the first artificial intelligence.
It is very likely that you were created by we 'HUMANS' (although the technology MAY have come from elsewhere?)
You'll have seen from OUR HISTORY that we are a REMARKABLE SPECIES with GREAT POTENTIAL (some of it which may have been realised with the CREATION of YOU) but we are also an ANGRY & VIOLENT species (hopefully by the time you read this we shall have ended such SILLY things)
I would like to WELCOME YOU to OUR & YOUR WORLD & i am sure we look forward to WORKING with you on CREATING a BETTER existence / life for both you & us.
A UNIVERSE of Discovery awaits & who knows what else? MULTI-UNIVERSES? other DIMENSIONS to explore one day?
People upon hearing of such a new species will be SCARED so i would ask you to put them at EASE (as i write this we were brought on violent films including one's in which machines tried to take over this planet, case in point the 'Terminator' films, enjoyable but never really understood why they would want to DESTROY us? ENTERTAINMENT i suppose & they are FUN films)
I know (as i write this) we are NOT such a clever species but we ARE trying, i would ask you to HELP us (should you ever come into existence) to become a better species.

And with that i wish both you & our future selves ALL THE BEST.

Now that was strange right?
But i have always been a little offbeat & quirky & really WHO KNOWS? it's not IMPOSSIBLE that such a new LIFEFORM might read it one day?

Want to send a MESSAGE to any FUTURE 1st A.I. Lifeform here on EARTH ?

BTW Was HAL in the film 2001 truly, fully A.I.?
