Paul Conway created the topic: The Brain with David Eagleman on BBC4
Sunday afternoon & just finished watching this final part 6/6 of this very interesting series.

If you missed it & get the chance to watch it I would recommend you do so & if you ONY watch 1 of them make sure it's this LAST Episode which asks "where are we going? what will our brains develop into?"

There is a segment early on which is heart breaking, a young American girl is having her life ruined & threatened by 'seizures' & it's horrible to see & her ONLY CHANCE is surgery, what is seen is almost UNBELIEVABLE, for the X-Rays show 1/2 (that's HALF) of her brain having been removed.
The JOY at seeing Cameron some 7 years later, talking, walking, interacting with people & LOVING LIFE is so INCREDIBLE & UPLIFTING I can't tell you.

Some of you folks I am sure have already seen this, the only slight problem she seemed to have was a weakness down one side.

My are we getting CLEVER & it just makes you want to punch the air with JOY that this could be done but it also brings to mind something I recalled in a post not too long ago....WE ONLY USE 20% of OUR BRAINS (I believe that's the percentage?) if that is so then the fact they removed a half of this young girls brain & she was still able to function perfectly well (some 7 years later) is quiet remarkable but makes some sense right?

It was explained that much of the brain might be interconnected as one (more so than we thought) & yet this was achieved.

So why were we ALL born with BRAINS that we only use 1/5th of? why not as with the rest of us just create us with 1/5th or 1/10th of the brain we need (or so we think we might need)
And what might that other 4/5th's DO? it must have some hidden meaning & purpose...can you imagine the wonders that await when we finally master it?

This final part was very well presented by David Eagleman & was increasingly interesting...this guy invents a wearable VEST that has signals hit it which the guy wearing it is asked if he understands what they are? as the days/weeks pass he & so his brain gets to work out this ALIEN LANGUAGE VEST :)

WHAT DREAMS MAY COME ;)

There is a possible interesting CONCLUSION at the end of this episode in which it is suggested that WE MAY WELL ALL BE IN SOME AMAZING 'Simulation' WORLD with INCREDIBLE Computing Power.

This will hit many as a very strange possible conclusion (especially as it feels we are alive & witnessing these feelings & where we are) & so highly unlikely i think most of us might think but as he explains with the BRAIN in the JAR you would never know!

Can you imagine if we / you are part of a most incredible computer programme and that...

"IS EVERYTHING THAT WE SEE or SEEM BUT A DREAM WITHIN a DREAM"

Well if so you might think nothing we do then is significant or important but HOW DO YOU KNOW?
In any case i am just HAPPY Cameron is ALIVE, WELL & HAPPY.
