My little boy loves the moon and although he does not realise it yet (he is only 2 afterall) he will be making his own moon landing all things being equal in about 9 years or so! Anyhoo, in his room he already has a poster of the moon which glows in the dark, we have a meteorite on our mantelpiece which must have been close to the moon at some point, signed copy of the late, great Sir Patrick Moore's book 'A guide to the Moon' and an album called Moon Patrol in the CD stack (phew). Was wondering if other folks are as mad about the moon as our family!?

If this mission is successful (and frankly even if it's not) your son is just going to love you even more for this (for even if it fails it
should teach him a great deal over these next 9 years)
Had their been a mission similar to this back in the 1970's when I was a young child and my father had let it be known that my dna was on it's way to Mars or the Moon I'd have been delighted.

As to Moon related items...
I have a small Moon marble (to accompany the Earth one)
There's a set of 3 Micromachines Galoob Apollo craft that landed and orbited the Moon.
As well as a truly incredible Pop-Up Book entitled "Astronauts on the Moon" The Story of the Apollo Moon Landings, issued by Hallmark, 1st issue from late 1969-70 (when the Apollo missions were still in operation)
Also have a few original NASA Press release Photo's including one of Buzz Aldrin standing next to the American Flag (a stunning shot)
I'm sure I've got more Moon related stuff that I can't think of right now.

I may have to hunt down one of those Glow in the Dark moon posters as we head closer in

I have never seen a glow in the dark moon poster but would love to have had one of those as a kid! Actually I would love one of those as an adult.

Maybe a glow in the Dark Moon Poster with a magnetic back so that we can slap on a magnetic LM-1 design sticker (once finalised)
