I am NOT a huge MUSICALS fan but seriously HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE "The Sound of Music"
And in Britain it is shown every CHRISTMAS, that being sad I do not recall seeing it listed this Christmas (not on any of the main channels anyway)
Being a huge film fan it's one I have on Blu-ray but did not get around to seeing this Christmas & then I heard of the death of Heather Menzies Urich & of all days Christmas Eve, maybe I am just getting older & soppy now but it was a bit of a choker this!
So desperately sad to hear (it always is when it's someone that made a CLASSIC & LOVED film or TV series) not only was she one of the delightful children in this film but she was also married to one of my ALL-TIME favourite Tv actors 'ROBERT URICH' who starred in the 1980 tv series "VEGA$" with his Red coloured Thunderbird car that he drove straight into his home, fond memories but ALSO she appeared in a cult TV series that was a spin-off of a brilliant science fiction film "LOGAN's RUN"
Later in life & with the introduction of the web & YouTube & the like you could actually find & see episodes you had missed or forgotten about.
She was a very attractive lady & it so happens I found out she posed for PB magazine, I loved "LOGAN's RUN" the film & this short lived series she appeared in but only years later did I find she did such a thing & in a crazy way I think that's COOL, I guess at that time she might have been trying to break away from that squeaky clean image & yes I did see the images & like I said a beautiful lady but she has left a lasting performance in the SOUND Of MUSIC that will forever be loved by millions of people across the world & down the ages & no doubt future children will be introduced to this film & will also come to LOVE it.
You know WHY I think this hit me so hard? it's because I posted a few weeks before Christmas what was my favourite CHRISTMAS TV AD this year (2017) & it was a close call between one for SKY MOVIES showing THE SOUND of MUSIC being passed on & LOVED by different generations but in the end I went for the PADDINGTON Marks & Spencer Ad as my favourite...well...it was a CLOSE CALL...but in HONOUR of Heather I would like to change my decision to this SKY MOVIES TV Ad...
