At its heart, engineering is about using science to find creative, practical solutions. It is a noble profession.

@Angela, thanks! i like game devising. I'd be interested in the app ideas, that's probably a way of getting lots of people swinging by, especially if we could get links with the bbc stuff, or the code club, and I'm sure there are many others. Wonder how jany languages we'll need to translate them into? All of them hopefully!
@Paul, thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm not sure I can do the whole game! Its a bit like - in my opinion - knowing roughly how a car works, and what special features you want from the one you're going to buy, compared to sitting down with a blank piece of paper and an ebay account to build your own car from scratch . Possible, sure and likely fun, but generally best left to the experts! And like a car, there are many things to go wrong, and only one of them needs to before you're in trouble ... I'd think me and anyone who volunteers could put the framework together with a draft rule book then pitch to an established games company or interested designer to finish (i.e. take it to bits and put it back together again and do all the weeks and months of play-testing to check its not broken, get manufactured, get in games shops ...)
As with software games, Kickstarter is a fairly acceptable funding route for new boardgame development (but with some long long delayed ones), particularly if you want to gauge interest before throwing in lots of resources to develop a whole suite of games for all ages. And it would of course be very much in keeping with LM1's philosophy!

Wow Angela, you sure are one accomplished individual!
I still think a Moon Map poster is a must, with potential landing sites listed and perhaps a place for a sticker once the choice has been finalised.
I LOVE branded stationary and I think that would be pretty cheap for the team to do, branded diaries, pens, notebooks, pens, etc. Also I have been meaning to get a astronomical stargazing notebook to record observations but I'm waiting for a LM1 branded one of those, would be perfect for when I am looking at the Moon through my telescope.
LM1 mugs, travel mugs, mousemat, iPad/iPhone covers, etc I think would be great sellers and also cheap to make. I am hoping to attend another workshop and present another poster so a nice LM1 tie and perhaps a bag would really make me look professional and advertise LM1.

Yes please Angela
Minnaloushe creeps through the grass,
From moonlit place to place,
The sacred moon overhead,
Has taken a new phase.
