How possible will it be to have a space light house? Or many spaces lighthouses? Not just to shine a light but to potray a kind of PULSAR, This would then bee seen light years away and who ever picked it up would not require to have a reciever directed directly at but in the general vasinity of any or all space ligh houses? Intrested, what do you all think

'What do you see when you look at the sky at night?'
And there is your answer to what you need to be seen lightyears away.

My thoughts exactly...you just don't see artificial light beams from this far out and as you say Roland there's no chance of seeing it, although we are getting clever thesedays (as with the doppelar effect, planet wobble) so who knows in the future but I think it unlikely.

The idea of a 'Space Lighthouse' is kinda novel & fun though I must say.

Perhaps on a Moon somewhere out there there's danger to be had from getting to close to it and a lighthouse type beacon could be a recognized universal indicator of telling us of the dangers of getting too close to it? just a thought (but one for a sci-fi novel perhaps?)
